Top 10 love songs for travellers

Love, love, love… you cannot live with it and you cannot live without it. Here are some songs to remind you that you are not alone with that feeling.

1. Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight” – Ludwig van Beethoven

Although more than 200 years old, the “Mondschein” Sonate is still more than a master piece. It’s art at its best and pure meditation. Listen to it while having your eyes shut as loud as you can. It will make you cry.

2. The Blower’s Daughter – Damien Rice

The soft voice of Damien Rice, his guitar skills and the accompaning violin are taking you on his path of falling in love, losing it and having hope again. Very smooooth and, if you listen carefully at the end, even healing.

3. The Scientist – Coldplay

No love playlist without Coldplay. But the old LPs. And especially “The Scientist”. A man’s sheer powerlessness towards love. Men suffer as well, even if they do not show it so often.

4. The Long and Winding Road – The Beatles

Probably the best love song EVER! But also “Something”, “Michelle”,  “Hey Jude”, “Blackbird”… Just listen to The Beatles, for christ sake. No excuses.

5. My Love, My Life – ABBA

Yeah, I know, I know. ABBA and The Beatles? But what can you do…that is probably the only thing that was really better back in the days. The music. Agneta, Björn, Benni and Anne-Fried at their best.

6. Your Song – Elton John

Some would probably prefer “Tiny Dancer”, but this is a love song that everyone would be amazed to receive some day. Humble, pure and just breathtaking.

7. If I Ain’t Got You – Alicia Keys

Something newer…kind of. From Alicia’s first album back in the days. Starting with her at the piano it climaxes to one of the best R’n’B love songs ever written.

8. Make You Feel My Love – Adele

The Queen of love songs and a song out from her first album. But fun fact: This particular song has not been written by Adele. It’s actually a Bob Dylan cover. Nevertheless, one of the best.

9. A Thousand Years – Christina Perri

Corny AF. But it’s a love song list, so nevermind 🙂 However, the song is way better than the movie where it is from: “Breaking Dawn – Twilight”

10. Solamente Tú – Pablo Alborán

Last but never ever least; something in Spanish. The voice of that Andalucian singer is as Spanish as a voice can be. A lot of strength, pain and love. And he’s veeeery handsome.
