The Cork Guinness Jazz Festival is an annual music festival held in Cork City, Ireland in late October every year since 1978. Faced with filling his property for the weekend, the marketing manager of the Metropole Hotel , scheduled the first one and just started a long lasting tradition. Ireland’s first successful jazz festival attracted thousands of fans.
2016 – this year, Cork celebrates, with around 1,000 musicians from over 30 countries playing at over 80 venues throughout the city, the 38th birthday of this annual happening.
It’s going to be a weekend to remember – for sure!
The festival offers a bunch of performance and educational opportunities for young and old music enthusiasts. Famous jazz stars and educators are going to share their experiences.
