International Beer Day

Every first Friday of August is the international Beer Day! It is the perfect day to focus on three breweries you will find in Cork: Franciscan Well, Rising Sons and Elbow Lane. Cheers!

The Franciscan Well Brewery and Pub was founded in 1998 and is one of Ireland’s longest established and best respected craft breweries.

Among the beers brewed at the Franciscan Well, you will find the number one selling craft beer in Ireland: the Rebel Red.

If you are interested in the brewing process, they organise brewery tours and tastings from Monday to Friday, from 6.30pm. You just have to complete the booking form on their website!

The Pub offers food every night, so don’t hesitate to go and taste their beers with a delicious pizza in their gorgeous beer garden! Is a good idea for the international beer Day!

Address: 14b North Mall, Cork

What makes the Rising Sons Brewery interesting is that the pub and the brewery are separated by a glass wall, which will allow you to have a look at the brewing process! They brew locally, and so your beer will be served very fresh.

In the pub that opened just two years ago, you will have the opportunity to taste a nice beer and one of their nice pizza, while enjoying the biggest sports screen in Cork city!

If you would like to learn more about the Rising Sons Brewery and Pub and their range of delicious beers, they also organise some tours!

Address: Cornmarket Street, Cork

The Elbow Lane Brew and Smoke house is a restaurant with its own brewery inside. They brew a range of five craft beers, and their most famous one is called the Angel Stout.

We advise you to enjoy a nice meal with one of their great beers! We promise you won’t be disappointed as it is one of Ireland’s top 100 restaurants!
