I'm Unsure I Agree
Differences between Germany and Ireland

When two different cultures clash, it sometimes can be hard. But what are the accurate differences between Ireland and Germany? Are worlds between both countries or are they just like home?

Opening hours

It’s the best when you separate the opening hours in clothing and grocery stores. The most shopping stores are opened from 10 am to 10 pm. In contrast to them, grocery are opened from 7am to 10pm. Furthermore, Sunday is a rest day, which means that there are no shopping stores or grocery open.

In Ireland does is look differently Shopping stores are mostly opened from 9 am to 6 pm. The grocery from 7/8 am to 10 pm. Moreover, all the shops are open on Sunday.

Opening hours of the grocery may change in both countries because of the situation as it’s worth it to be opened until after midnight because of the nightlife.

The legal age

In Germany you are of age with 18. The same also is for Ireland.

The nightlife

While you are allowed to go to every pub or club when you are of age after you showed, if necessary, your ID card, you’ll may have some problems in Ireland. Even if the legal age is also 18 some pubs will let you in. But most of the pubs are from the age of 19, 21 and even higher.

While the clubs and pubs in Germany are opened from the afternoon to 5 or 6 am in the next morning, in Ireland everything will be closed at 2 or 3 am.

Buy alcohol

You always can buy alcohol in Germany, as long as the grocery are open.

In Ireland conversely you are only allowed to buy alcohol between 10.30 am and 10 pm.

Parks and green areas

The parks and green spaces always are accessible in Germany. In Ireland they will be locked every night. During the day there mostly are security guards who watch everything in order that everything is peaceful.
