Are you from an English-speaking country or is English your second language? That’s enough, right? No, it’s not! 5 reasons to learn la bonita lengua española!
Spanish is spoken by over 440 million people as their mother-tongue and by around 570 million as their second language. That means, that you would be able to communicate with around 8 % of the worlds population or, to put it in better perspective, with more people than the European Union has inhabitants.
With exception of Brasil, Suriname and French Guiana is Spanish the first language of every other country in South and Middle America. And even in the above-mentioned ones, they are going to understand you, since it is their second language. And … Spain, of course. 😉
Spanish is a relatively easy language to learn. For instance, Polish has seven cases, German has three articles with almost no rules, just exceptions, in French you are pronouncing just a third of the words you’ve written. And have you seen the Mandarin signs? I don’t want to say that you shouldn’t learn these languages as well, but do yourself a favour and start with an easy one.
“¡Qué bonita estás!”, “Voy a soñar contigo.”, “¡No puedo vivir sin ti!”, “Eres mi todo.”
The list goes on and on. When you are able to speak Spanish, you are adapting the same “temperamento y novela” as the Spanish have. And believe me, it works.
We are living in a globalized world. It’s faster, more connected and more competitive as it never has been. Therefore, you have to keep up to gain and uphold success. Speaking English won’t be enough soon. Employers wish to have staff which is not only efficient, but also bilingual or even trilingual. And if you add Spanish to your CV, you are one step ahead of many people.
